Faith Cakes

So a friend made one of these Faith Cakes and I thought hers was pretty impressive so I had to get details on how to make a Faith Cake.  So in my research, I found the following steps to build one.  I thought it was pretty impressive and wanted to share it with you as well!  ENJOY!

FAITH CAKE:

To make this cake you will need:
2 boxes White Cake

1 box Devils Food Cake

Basically, I am not posting here a recipe but more an order on HOW TO create this fabulous cake!  What a great treat to have as we celebrate the RESURRECTION in about a week!

First you cook the cakes (2 chocolate, 4 vanilla).  Freeze one hour.

Trim the cakes to make them smooth.

Crumble ONE Chocolate Cake and the remains of the SECOND Chocolate Cake.  Add 1/2 frosting to crumbs.  Mix.

Circle cut from ONE cake...use tupperware bowl or something smaller than cake pan.

Cut the same circle used above and cut ONE of the vanilla cakes.

Start with WHOLE Vanilla Cake on plate and then frost.  Add Second layer, frost.  THIRD layer with hole,.

This is what you should have so far.  Frost this layer missing the hole.

Insert cut CHOCOLATE circle into hole.

This is what your cake should look like.

Using a LONG vase or narrow drinking glass, cut through your cake... to the plate and remove cake from center.

Cut the SAME size hole in the last White Layer and place on top, lining up center hole.

This is what your cake should look like from the top.

Remember our crumbs mixed with frosting?  We will now begin STUFFING the whole with that mix.

This is what your STUFFED center hole and cake should look like.

Now "crumb coat" your cake.  (A thin layer of icing,  put aside in fridge to set.

Frost your set cake.

Decorate with some creativity!

Here are some intricate designs up close.

This was such a beautiful display.

Here you can see the detail and time needed to create this masterpiece!

And FINALLY our finished cake, cut and displaying a wonderful cross hidden inside for all to see!  ENJOY!

the Wedding

My husband and I were invited to a wedding today and were so moved.  We really didn't know the couple getting married, we knew the bride's mother.  I wanted to share this song by Etta James, At Last.  See, a women sang this song right before the Bride came down the isle.  You know, most of us have been to weddings and unfortunately, I can count on one hand how many times I walked away saying, "Wow, that was an incredible vocalist."  Nothing against the fabulous people I have heard sing, but either sound systems are not up to par, or singers get nervous or who knows what, but the song doesn't quite come out the way I think it was expected to.  Well this women was a show stopper.  She was incredible.  It was the first of many moving things that were quite memorable at this wedding.

One more thing I want to share about this wedding was the desire of the bride and groom to have an alter call at their wedding.  They knew there would be friends and family there that were not sure of the destination upon their death.  You say and alter call at a wedding, hmmm.  Well, I totally loved it, because 25 years ago this August my husband and I did the same thing.  We had the salvation story shared with our friends and family and after the service I rejoiced with my guests who not only came to my wedding but were given an invitation to the Wedding Feast of the Lamb.

See this pastor tonight shared the parable of the ten virgins found in Matthew 25:1-13.  I have added it here for you to read from the Amplified version if you are not familiar with the parable.  Jesus is speaking:
"Mat 25:1 THEN THE kingdom of heaven shall be likened to ten virgins who took their lamps and went to meet the bridegroom.

Names of God

This was a fabulous daily prayer idea I received from a friend.  It was published through the Navigators (Names of God) and such an encouragement.  I pray that you are blessed by it!
Thirty Days of Praying the Names and Attributes of God

Use the following list of God’s names and attributes to guide your time set apart with Him. Read the daily description about God and the accompanying passage. Worship God, focusing on Him and His qualities.

God is Jehovah. The name of independent being—“I AM WHO I AM”—only belongs to Jehovah God. As we consider His greatness, we fall down in fear and awe of this One who possesses all authority. Exodus 3:13-15

God is Jehovah-M’Kaddesh. This name means “the God who sanctifies.” A God separate from all that is evil requires that the people who follow Him be cleansed from all evil. Leviticus 20:7,8

God is infinite. We cannot speak of measure, amount, size, or weight and at the same time be speaking of God, for He is beyond measurement. God has no beginning, no end, and no limits. Romans 11:33

God is omnipotent. God has power. Since God is also infinite, whatever He has must be without limit; therefore, God has limitless power. Jeremiah 32:17,18, 26,27

God is good. The goodness of God is what disposes Him to be kind, benevolent, and full of good will toward all creation. Psalm 119:65-72

Busyness

This video is an interesting look at our life of busyness from the prospective of the demons of hell and their strategy to keep us off track. After listening to this video and reading the plan, it should make you stop and think about keeping the main thing the main thing.
